In Memory of Captain Dale Mosby
The Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District, along with Rancho Santa Fe Professional Firefighters Local 4349, is deeply saddened to make notification of the Line of Duty Death of Fire Captain Dale E. Mosby. Captain Mosby had a long battle with work related PTSD. On Monday, November 16, 2020, Captain Mosby took his own life. Captain Mosby was a 31-year veteran of the Fire District and most recently worked at Fire Station 3 in Fairbanks Ranch. Captain Mosby was a graduate of Palomar Fire Academy #2, was actively involved in training, and was instrumental in establishing our peer support group. Captain Mosby was held in very high regard, a mentor to many, and a highly respected individual in our organization. Captain Mosby made a lasting impact and his roots run deep within our organization.
Our hearts and condolences go out to Dale’s wife, his two children, and to his many friends within our Fire Service family.
